There is a lot of controversy surrounding the whole Jamie Lynn Spears pregnancy. People are saying that her show should be canceled and she should be fired from Nickelodeon. Others say that she shouldn't be punished for just wanting to be honest about her pregnancy. Others also say that just being pregnant is punishment enough.

I also hear that Nickelodeon is considering doing a special on pregnancy. Perhaps our character, Zooey, will encounter a new friend who happens to be pregnant and they will share moments of despair, happiness and tragedy at the loss of the child when she gets shot in a drive by shooting during the school's prom night. Sorry, I was referring back to an episode of South Of Nowhere. Who knows! I think that having a special about pregnancy is a good idea. Not all teenagers are going to listen to their parents or teachers about sex. In fact, some of them either brag about knowing everything or some are grossed out. I can't count how many girls in my class were grossed out by the idea of having our older teacher discuss to a bunch of us freshmen about sexual reproduction. I really didn't mind. I was one of the ones who bragged about knowing everything, which I did.

Back to Jamie Lynn's pregnancy.

I don't agree that her pregnancy is punishment enough. I get really sick and tired of people referring to pregnancies as punishment. That pretty much states that the baby you are about to bring into this world is a punishment. Granted, the kid is an accident because it wasn't planned, but a punishment? Imagine growing up and reading back to you being talked about before you were born and hearing that everyone thought you were a punishment for something your mother did years ago. Would that feel good?

I do think it's mature to be upfront about her pregnancy. If she didn't say anything, it would only be talked about. Rumors would spread and then she would be in her sisters shoes. Rumors and what not being spread. Even though most of Britney's rumors are true, I still say leave her the fuck alone.

All in all, this situation is going down in celebrity history. This week was supposed to be Ashlee Simpson's week because her new single and video came out, but now Ashlee is furious because Jamie Lynn has stolen her thunder.

What will unravel from this?
