Today was just like any other Tuesday. Getting up at 7 AM and then leaving the house by 7:30 AM to get to the hospital by 8 AM. My cousin and I got there at least 10 minutes early, so I treated us to some breakfast. It was a very delicious bagel with fat free cream cheese. I would have gotten the regular cream cheese, but I wondered what fat free would taste like. Needless to say, my half burnt bagel and fat free cream cheese was DELICIOUS!
We sat down at our desk, said our good morning to our co-volunteerers and co-workers. Both my cousin and I sighed when we saw the other people we volunteer with. Both are girls, one of them said no to nearly everything I asked her. Mainly, it was me asking, "
You want to take the guy in the wheelchair?" Her response, "
No." Straight up! I didn't mind taking anybody and showing them around, it's just that I was writing addresses on envelopes and stuffing them with papers, while looking through lists of people that were in the hospital today and adding people, taking people off, and writing down wheter they have been transfered to another room. The other girl, she is a know-it-all. She tried to show my cousin and I how to use a wheelchair, we simply told her that we knew what to do and yet she still continued to ask us questions. She also bumped my cousin in the back of her chair and crushed her into the desk when she was trying to get behind her and my cousin said ,"
Excuse me.." and the girl said, "
You're fine." Needless to say, I really did want to say something. I just sat there and muttered to her to not say anything because we really don't want to start anything with the people we see every Tuesday. Besides, it's one day we see them. Fridays, we don't have to deal with them, just with other people. :D
Other than that, it was a normal day. I tried to read, but I couldn't. I kept getting distracted by one thing or another. So I did my envelopes and listened to my ipod.
Oh.
And this may sound like I am complaining and I guess I am, but I am getting tired of one of the girls complaining about how tired she is and how she has split shifts and all that. She covers for a lot of people, so of course she's going to be tired. She really doesn't have to, but I guess she just wants to. Next time I hear her, I will tell her straight up.
I do love volunteering there though, it's interesting.
Just people can be annoying.
I can be too.
But I just sit there and pay mind to whatever it is I'm supposed to be doing and keep my nose out of their business.
And ignore everything.
I love it.
:D
Now if you'll excuse me. I have to go get ready to go out tonight. I am going on a date. Well, yeah it's a date, but with a friend of mine that I haven't seen in months.
